MIXPrep

Privacy

Your sessions are yours.

What we collect, why we collect it, and who else sees it. In plain words.

Updated October 10, 2026

The short version

  • Your audio stays on your Mac. MIXPrep preps your session on your computer.
  • We never see your card. Stripe handles every payment.
  • We don’t sell your information.
  • Came from a partner’s link? That partner may measure their own ads on our MIXPrep pages. How that works.
  • Want to see or delete what we have? Email support@themixacademy.com.

Who we are

The Mix Academy, LLC is David Glenn’s company. We make MIXPrep and run themixacademy.com. Any privacy question goes to support@themixacademy.com, and a real person answers.

On this website

Page counts

We count visits and a few steps, like opening checkout, with Vercel Web Analytics. It sets no cookies and doesn’t know who you are.

Where you came from

Your browser keeps a small note of where you first and last came from: a link’s campaign tags, a partner’s link, an ad click marker, or the site that sent you. If you start a trial or buy, that note goes with it so we know which link helped. It lives in your browser, and clearing this site’s data removes it.

Forms

When you ask for a free trial or a free download, we use your name and email to send it, and we add you to our email list. Every email has an unsubscribe link.

Google on some pages

Embedded YouTube videos, and the spam check on some forms, are run by Google under Google’s privacy policy.

Partner links

Some audio engineers and creators recommend MIXPrep and earn a commission when someone they sent buys it.

The click

When you arrive through a partner’s link, we count the click for that partner. The count uses a random number made for your browser, never your name or email. If you buy within 90 days of the click, that partner earns the commission. The price you pay is the same either way.

Their ads

Some partners run ads for MIXPrep. If you came from one of their links, that partner’s own Meta, Google Ads or TikTok tag may load on the MIXPrep page, checkout and the thank-you page. It tells their ad account that someone from their ad visited, started checkout, or bought, and the price. Meta, Google and TikTok may use cookies to do this, under their own privacy policies.

  • These tags never load for anyone who didn’t come from a partner’s link.
  • They stop 90 days after the click.
  • They don’t load at all if your browser sends Global Privacy Control.
  • The partner sees counts and sales in their own ad account. They never get your name, email or card from us.

When you buy

  • Stripe takes your payment. We never see or store your card number.
  • We get your name, email, what you bought and the price. For a plan that renews, we also keep the renewal terms you agreed to, with the time and the internet address you agreed from, so there’s a record for both of us.
  • Your license key is stored on our server so you can activate MIXPrep, and so we can send it again if you lose it. Your key and download link come by email.
  • Your email and what you bought also go to Kajabi, where our email list and courses live.

In the MIXPrep app

Your audio stays on your Mac

Prep, analysis and listening to your tracks all run on your computer. MIXPrep works on organized copies, never your originals.

Activation

To check your license, the app sends your key, a device code made from your Mac’s hardware ID (scrambled, not the serial number), and your Mac’s name, so you can see and remove your computers.

Smart naming

With Pro, and during a free trial, the app can send your track names and a few level readings, never the audio, through our server to Anthropic’s Claude to help name and sort your tracks.

Crash reports

If MIXPrep crashes, it sends a report to Sentry with file paths and file names taken out. Turn this off any time in Settings, under Privacy.

Free trial

Starting a trial sends your email and the same device details as activation. During the trial, the app sends a few steps, like finishing a session, tied to a random trial ID, so we can make the first run better. Those steps never include track names or audio.

Updates

Once a day the app asks our server if there’s a new version.

Labs, if you turn them on

Labs are off until you switch them on in Settings. MIXRef looks up song details in public music databases and may use an AI service (Anthropic or Google Gemini). MIXNotes turns speech into text on your Mac; tidying notes sends the note text to an AI service through our server, and sharing a mix uploads a small compressed copy of the mix you choose, with the notes you include. MIXBrief sends your session’s track types and details, not the audio, to Anthropic’s Claude.
